Humanity has many basic needs.  One of these is the need for congregation and ritual.  This coming together with purpose is supportive in nature and can be helpful in troubled times.  How this is done is different from place to place, but the various rites are practiced throughout our whole life.  Groups are formed sometimes living in harmony, sometimes creating a separation that is devastating.  Three quiltbooks emerged from these thoughts.

Sanctuary

Is a sanctuary created by place or by the people who invite others in?  History talks of certain places being holy or special, however, one can find sanctuary within a community too.

A Gathering

Celebrating, marking of time, remembrance and sharing or just support in troubled times, a gathering of our kin is crucial.

Book Three

The Power of the Circle

Part of the circle or within the circle, we find a connection to our community, a coming together of all parts of life, a wholeness and totality.

This book has been juried into the artist book exhibition Ritual by 23 Sandy Gallery and Baylor University Gallery. Exhibition dates are February 28 until May 14, 2025.
