It all starts out with self.  From birth we are concentrated on ourselves and our needs.  As we slowly grow and mature, our point of focus changes to those around us, our immediate family, and then hopefully to the wider world.  We realize that although our personal needs come first, we can’t survive without the support of others.

One person is labeled Ego, everyone else is their kin.
